HIGH HOLY DAY SCHEDULE 2010 Rabbi Matuson and Cantor Montefiore
Series of sermons on the Days of Awe on the subject of apologies:
-
Their purpose
and their role in our tradition, when we should and should not apologize and for what should
we seek forgiveness and from whom.
-
The second sermon would begin with why sometimes it is so
difficult to apologize and why sometimes it is so difficult to accept an apology and then
broach the subject of forgiveness.
-
Forgiveness would be the focus of the next sermon, when should
we forgive and when we might forego forgiving and what price is paid for either decision.
-
The next
sermon would address the difficulties inherent in forgiving, when forgiving hurts what are our
obligations and limits, and what might we gain from forgiving.
