  • BETH EL TOTS: For ages 18 months to 4 years old, meets every other week with programming related to a specific Jewish theme. Activities include storytelling, singing, crafts, and games. Open to members and non-members alike.

  • SISTERHOOD: Sisterhood activities typically include a Game Day, a Holiday Bazaar, a Sisterhood Shabbat, an Antiques Road Show and the hosting of a Women's Seder. Sisterhood also supports the JFCS food bank (FANN) and shelters for victims of domestic violence. Sisterhood hosts a book club, the engraved brick walkway and our synagogue's gift shop.

  • BROTHERHOOD: Brotherhood sponsors a variety of activities such as a monthly "Dinner with the Rabbi" catered deli-style dinner with lively discussions.

  • ADULT ED: Rabbi Matuson facilitates stimulating discussions on the 3rd Wednesday evenings of each month, leads weekly scholarly discussions every Thursday morning and offers a B'nai Mitzvah program for adults who wish to study Torah. Adult choir also is offered.

  • SOCIAL ACTION: The Social Action Committee takes its role seriously, organizing a food drive during the High Holy Days to benefit Jewish Family and Community Services, collecting food and clothing for BEAM and Mission House, assembling Purim/Passover care packages for Jewish military personnel and it is currently exploring opportunities to establish a literacy project at the beaches and a community-wide Mitzvah Day.

  • JUST PLAIN FUN: Beth El has a lively social committee which has offered fun-filled evenings such as "From Russia with Love" and "the world's only practicing rabbi doing stand-up comedy intentionally."  The membership committee hosts open-house nights, neighborhood gatherings and helps coordinate Havarot, small groups of friends who meet around common interests and form closer bonds with one another. Sisterhood also hosts social events throughout the year. Watch for upcoming events in the HaKol monthly newsletter.
